- 1. DO NOT be drunk or under the influence.
- 2. All spots are first come first serve.
- 3. Keep amplifiers and drums turned down. You should only be playing music to THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF YOU, not across the street. Other people deserve a chance to play.
- 4. Watch your language.
- 5. Keep your trash picked up.
- 6. Set up a reasonable distance away from other performers.
- 7. DO NOT be disrespectful to folks who watch you and do not tip. The public does not “owe” street performers. Besides, sometimes folks tip when they walk by you later, or the next day.
- 8. DO NOT be disrespectful to folks who are taking your picture or videotaping you. You are performing IN PUBLIC and they HAVE THE RIGHT.
- 9. DO NOT Panhandle or aggressively solicit for tips while you are busking. It makes other street performers look bad by perpetuating the stereotype that all buskers are beggars. It also makes the public uneasy about stopping to listen to others.
- 10. DO NOT bring pets that do not like to be touched, or that have a tendency to bite or attack other animals. People like to touch and pet animals, and they don't always ask. If you insist on bringing your animal companion, Remember there are leash laws, and make sure your pet has all its shots and identification.
